It’s a running joke that the Fireants will play any kind of song, as long as it’s not in English. While they can sing in English, there’s a big truth lining that pun. The Fireants pride themselves in playing music that reflects the vast cultural crossings of the country and offer a little of the breadth and consequent beauty of the American experience. Their repertoire ranges from two-steps & waltzes from Louisiana’s Cajun & Creole communities to polkas, huapangos & rancheras from the Texas Conjunto tradition; cumbias from Colombia to fandangos & arins from the Basque Intermountain West; sones from Cuba to forro from Brazil; square dance tunes from Appalachia to old swing & jazz from all over. If given the opportunity, they can even play Quebecois tunes for contra dancing. No other act in town will provide such a wide range of culture. Contact David Romtvedt to discuss booking the Fireants for your event: 307-684-2194 or email@example.com.
