The Buffalo Chamber of Commerce is an action agency designed to meet community and area needs. It is a voluntary non-profit organization of businesses, professionals, organizations and interested individuals who join together to advance commercial, financial, industrial, and civic interests of the community. It is a civic clearinghouse, a public relations counselor, a legislative representative at the local, state and national levels of government, an information bureau and a business promotion medium.
We have over 300 members firm, 3 staff professionals, 9 part-time staff, a budget of $217,000 and many active volunteers. We are run by a Board of Directors, consisting of 9 businessmen and women, representing all segments of the economy.
The Chamber helps to build Buffalo, its economy and quality of life, through its efforts toward economic development, positive business climate, business assistance, community events, tourism and leadership. We are always working hard to make Buffalo a visitor destination and to stimulate community involvement through our monthly and annual events.
In addition to events, we encourage Business After Hours for our members. This is a great way to showcase our new businesses, their merchandise, or just to network with others in the community. Our monthly coffees are open to anyone who would like to come in to our Main Street office and share suggestions, ask questions, or voice concerns. We also hold monthly Luncheons featuring speakers from local businesses to help provide local businesses with important information, as well as helping to network within our community.
Not only do we work hard to promote the growth of our city, and to accomplish our objectives, but we also partner and participate with many groups on a variety of goals:
